John McCain believes Asian Americans are significant contributors to the health and vitality of the U.S. economy and the American culture. He has demonstrated his support for Asian Americans through his military service in Viet Nam as a decorated war hero and POW as well as his career in politics. John McCain is an experienced leader with a distinguished career that spans over four decades in public service to the nation. This included 22 years in the U.S. Navy, of which 5 ½ years was as a POW during the Vietnam War. His military record includes a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and a Distinguished Flying Cross. After retiring from the Navy, John McCain served another 20 years as U.S. Senator, leading American policy on military and national security issues.
With over 40 years of experience serving the nation, John McCain has developed a keen understanding for key issues and solutions to address the challenges that face our nation.
